On the night of Dec. 9, at the corner of Russell and College streets, I witnessed the epitome of arrogance and intolerance.

A man stopped his white truck in the middle of the lanes and jumped out of his truck to yell at an older man who had cut him off and nearly side-swiped him. His belligerence and intolerance must mean he has never made the same or similar mistake, right?

His chivalrous nature was further demonstrated when he shouted “(expletive)” at me when I suggested he “settle down.” And, as he drove off he cut off the next car in the lane.

I hope that driver reads this and feels embarrassed by his behavior. We’ve all made unintentional infractions while driving.

I hope he learns something when he is shown civility the next time he cuts someone off.
