AUBURN — Michael B. Goldman, 75, died peacefully Dec. 19, at the Androscoggin Hospice House after a courageous battle with bone marrow cancer.
He was born Nov. 19, 1935, and resided at The Blake Street Towers in Lewiston. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Oscar and Esther Goldman, of Lewiston. He leaves a loving wife, Misbah Hafeez, who resides in India.
He was educated in the Lewiston school system, and also attended Tilton Academy. He furthered his education at Norwich University.
He owned and operated Michael’s clothing store on Lisbon Street in the 1980s. He was active in local politics, and was chairman of the model cities program in Lewiston. He was a longtime member of Beth Jacob Synagogue in Lewiston. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years for the State of Maine chapter. He loved to dabble in the stock market, and was an avid Red Sox fan. He looked forward to the Tuesday lunches with his friends, and talking about the good times he had at his parent’s summer home in Pine Point.
Michael traveled to South Africa, Egypt, and India brokering international business ventures. He resided in India until returning to the States in 2003.
