WILTON — A Livermore Falls man whose truck hit a utility pole Wednesday night on Route 2 in Wilton was listed in fair condition at a Lewiston hospital Thursday afternoon.
Richard Wilson, 63, suffered serious injuries when his pickup left the road and landed in a ditch, Wilton police Detective Richard Billian Jr. said.
The vehicle was traveling east when it struck a culvert at a driveway, sending the truck airborne and into a power pole, Billian said.
Wilson was taken by a NorthStar Emergency Medical Services ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital and later flown to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by medical helicopter.
The accident occurred at about 6:27 p.m. in the area of 447 Route 2 East, Billian said.
Wilson was initially listed in critical condition at CMMC, Billian said earlier Thursday. A hospital spokeswoman listed his condition as fair after noon.
The accident remained under investigation.
“Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors,” Billian said.
