LEWISTON — Marie J. Burtis, 58, of Sabattus Street, Lewiston died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston, June 18, 1952, a daughter of Romeo and Catherine (Crowelle) Parent. She was educated in Lewiston. She married Ivan Burtis on May 31, 1969, in Lewiston.

Marie enjoyed crafts, cooking, camping, puzzles, board games, crocheting, watching her soaps and talking on the phone with her mother every day. She loved her time with her friends and especially her grandchildren.

She leaves her husband of 41 years, Ivan Burtis of Lewiston; her mother, Catherine Parent of Lewiston; a daughter, Catherine Burtis of Lewiston; two sons, Romeo Burtis of Alabama, and John Burtis of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Nicholas of Lewiston, Ryan and Shelby of Alabama; a special niece, Katie Marie Hallock of Lewiston; and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Romeo Parent; and a niece, Nicole Hallock.
