RANGELEY — James M. “Jim” Boutilier, 71, of Rangeley, died Thursday, Jan. 6, at his home surrounded by his family after a long illness.

He was born in Rangeley, April 24, 1939, a son of Mondell and Hazel (Mason) Boutilier. On March 24, 1959, he married Edna Brackett in Rangeley. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he worked in the plumbing and heating industry most of his life and could fix anything. He enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing and spending time with his family as well as his bird, “Dano.”

He is survived by his wife, Edna; son, James and his wife, Ginny; his mother, Hazel; a grandson and a great-granddaughter, all of Rangeley; brothers, Stephen of Oquossoc and Ronald of West Paris; and a sister, Cheryl White of Lisbon.

He was predeceased by his father, Mondell.
