LEWISTON — Robert B. Wright, 80, of Island Road, Sabattus, died unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 7, at Central Maine Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lewiston, on June 24, 1930, the son of Arthur and Janet (Forrest) Wright, and had been a resident of Sabattus since 1965.

He was employed in the local textile industry for many years until his retirement. He was a Booster Member of the American Legion Post No. 135 of Sabattus and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Sabattus.

Dad enjoyed walking, eating, especially his sweets, and loved visiting with his brothers and sisters. Dad was a great father and family man, was very easy going. and always willing to help and never expected anything in return.

He is survived by his wife, the former Rita M. Violette, of Sabattus, whom he married Feb. 3, 1951; three sons, Arthur Wright and his wife, Brenda, of Monmouth, Philip Wright and his wife, Julie, of Monmouth, and Michael Wright and his wife, Rebecca, of Live Oak, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Darling of Sabattus and Shirley Duquette of Sabattus; five grandchildren, Shawn Wright and his wife, Jennifer, of North Monmouth, Heidi Wheeler and her husband, Benjamin, of Waterville, Chad Wright and his wife, Stephanie, of Monmouth, Brandon Wright and his fiancee, Lindsey Fisher, of Augusta, and Arrica Wright of Brandon, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Cody Mower, Madison Rose Wright, and Isabelle Wright, all of North Monmouth, and two on the way, Brock Wright and Lillian Wheeler; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Kassel, Margaret Burnham, and Edna Wright; five brothers, George, Wallace, Philip, James and Albion Wright; and a step-brother, Averill Wright.
