The U.S. government is about to give senior citizens the third “hit” in a row with the now unpopular health care reform. Two years ago, there was no increase in Social Security checks, and that was repeated in 2010, giving seniors the second “hit” with a continued increase in the cost of living.

The third “hit” is going to be the reduction of hospital care and other payments for the seniors. The government is going to break its promise to cover people after they have paid into the system all of their working years.

That is not fair.

This country cannot get to the point where we thin out the elderly and the unproductive populations who no longer contribute to the tax system.

It kind of reminds me of my Dad, years ago, when he would take the old horse in the back of the barn and shoot it because it could not pull the plow anymore. Dad would say, “If he cannot work, I cannot afford to feed him.”

Never in my entire working life did I believe that one day the government would shatter my dream of the golden years, where I would have enough resources to exist without the fear of losing my home, my Medicare benefits and other promises made to me by my government.
