LEWISTON — Eva B. Gilbert, 89, of 4 Leeds St., died Thursday, Feb. 3, at Marshwood Health Care.

She was born in Rumford, Feb. 2, 1922, the daughter of the late Leon and Diana Brodeur Blouin. She was educated in Rumford schools and attended Stephens High School. She was married Aug. 25, 1945, to Leo Gilbert, who predeceased her June 27, 1969.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a spinner at Bates Manufacturing.

Eva was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the Ladies of St. Ann Sodality. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting for her family and traveling.

She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Tyrrell and husband, Robert, of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Rodney St.Pierre and David St.Pierre and wife, Julie Ann, and a great-grandson, Damien St.Pierre; six sisters, Lucille Loubier of Florida, Adrienne Desrochers of Lewiston, Lorena Desjardins of Lewiston, Irene Lavoie and husband, Laurier, of Lewiston, Venise Baril and husband, Ralph, of Lewiston and Pauline Boilard and husband, John, of Sabattus; one brother, Laurian Blouin and wife, Constance, of Lewiston; a sister-in-law, Joan Blouin of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Blouin.
