OXFORD — Boxberry Elementary students visited Pineland Farms in New Goucester recently.
The students experienced many firsts, such as milking a cow by hand, touching and smelling the food given to the dairy cattle and learning about the process of fresh milk being made into cheese. The students tasted several cheeses that are made at Pineland Farm.
After the tour, they had lunch in one of the oldest original buildings at Pineland. The educational field trip tied into Boxberry’s thematic unit on machines.
