AVON — Anthony Philip Roy and Caitlyn Alice Koch of Jonesboro, together with their families, announce their engagement to be married on April 16.

Mr. Roy, son of Paula W. Roy Kane of Avon and Philip W. Roy of Madrid, is a 2000 graduate of Mt. Abram Regional High School in Salem and a 2004 graduate of the University of Maine in Machias. He holds a bachelor’s degree in recreational management and is currently working on his degree in special education. He teaches special ed at Machias High School, where he also coaches the JV boys’ basketball team and assists the varsity coach. In the summer, he is a lifeguard at Sand Beach and Echo Lake in Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island.

Miss Koch is the daughter of Craig and Carol Koch of Madison, N.H. She graduated from Kennett Crosby Jr./Sr. High School in 2003 and earned her degree in elementary education at the University of Maine at Machias, graduating in 2007. She teaches fifth grade at Rose M. Gaffney School in Machias.

The couple plan to honeymoon in the Caribbean.
