Bath police said Wednesday they located 17-year-old Alyssa S. Guyer, who was reported missing after leaving a residential group home Tuesday night.

Bath Deputy Police Chief Andrew Booth said Guyer has been found in New York state and is safe.

“We’re still investigating the circumstances that lead to this,” Booth said.

Guyer left the group home without belongings or medications, reportedly to meet with an unknown male, according to police.

Police thought she may be with an Asian male driving a car with New York license plates.

Booth said police believe Guyer, who is from New Hampshire, is believed to have run away from the group home. She had only been in Bath for a week and didn’t have local ties, Booth said.

A nationwide alert went out to police and Bath police alerted police in New Hampshire and New York, Booth said.

Bath police detective Marc Brunelle used some information the department received from the public to help find Guyer, according to Booth.

No additional information was immediately available.
