To the Editor:
This past year has been like no other. My husband and I have spent much of it hiking and snowshoeing on the trails to and around Buck’s Ledge. It’s no wonder we met many other people out there doing the same. Buck’s is a great place to take in views of the Presidential Range, overlook area ponds, and enjoy all kinds of seasonal plants and wildlife. We are so fortunate to have access to such natural splendor.
I’ve recently learned Woodstock is in a position to turn the Buck’s Ledge property into a Community Forest by purchasing it with existing funds from the town’s dedicated land conservation account. I hope the residents of Woodstock will join me and vote YES, to authorize the town to make this purchase. We have a golden opportunity to preserve this neighborhood asset now and for future generations.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
