To the Editor:
The Museums of the Bethel Historical Society (MBHS) is welcoming the 2021 season with a variety of activities and exhibits for the public. Returning this year will be our popular July 4th Portland Brass Quintet concert at the Moses Mason House, “Mornings at the Museum” for children during the month of July, our Millbrook Arts and Craft Series, tours of the Moses Mason House, Thursday afternoon live music, as well as an exhibit on the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame.
Additionally, July will feature a fundraising auction and raffle of local business and merchant donations as well as one-of-a-kind hand crafted and donated pieces—think hooked rugs and quilted pieces! Save the afternoon of Saturday, July 31, for our Auction Finale gathering on our grounds and open tours of our Archives and Library.
MBHS is currently open on our limited early Spring hours, so look for the “Open” flag and stop in, call ahead at 207-824-2908, or contact us on-line at www.bethelhistorical.org. Admission is always free, the Museum Shop is open, and there is someone on staff to answer questions or help with research. Watch for more events and specific times and we hope to see you soon!

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
