Earl D. Witten Sr.

SKOWHEGAN – Earl D. Witten Sr., 65, a resident of Skowhegan, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Friday, April 30, 2021, at his home. He was born July 30, 1955 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Elmer Earl Witten and Charlotte Ruth (McKenzie) Witten.

He was a graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1978, serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. After his return he served in the Army Reserves at the U.S. Army Training Center in Lewiston.

He married Patty J. Pomerleau and they had three children, Earl Jr., Mickey and Kerry.

He later spent his years with Kelly Gagne until her passing Sept. 23, 2019. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club in Lewiston. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and taking care of his yard. He will be remembered as an honest and true person, if he said he was going to do something for you, he would do it. He was a devoted and loving companion, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Earl D. Witten Jr. of Lisbon Falls, Mickey L. Torres of Waterville and Kerry J. Sinclair of North Monmouth; seven grandchildren; fpur great-grandchildren and one on the way; his brother, Paul Witten and wife Lynn of Auburn and his sister, Connie Campbell of Belmont, N.C.

He was predeceased by his parents; infant daughter, Kristina Witten; companion, Kelly Gagne; and sisters Laura LeClair and Mary Pepin.

A funeral service with military honors will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 4 at BRAGDON-FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 707 Main St., Monmouth. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill Road, Sabattus.
