AUBURN — Helen L. Bouchard, 86, a resident of 20 Great Falls Plaza, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 5, at The Hospice House, with family by her side.
She was born in Caribou on Sept. 13, 1924, a daughter of George and Olive N. (McNeal) Goan. She was educated in Caribou schools and spent her adult years living in Milford, Scarborough and, most recently, for the past year in Auburn.
She was married to Bing Bouchard, who predeceased her. She worked as a homemaker during her married years and, along with Bing, enjoyed fishing, picking fiddleheads and playing cards with friends. She also enjoyed shopping, cooking and spending time with all her grandchildren.
She had a terrific sense of humor and absolutely loved meeting new people. When she moved to Great Falls Plaza in Auburn just over a year ago, she quickly met some new and wonderful friends and became involved in card-making, knock-bingo and cooking delicious desserts for everyone.
She was a loving, devoted, giving and hardworking wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.
She leaves her daughter, Nancy Bailey-Morrow and her husband, Dan, of Auburn; her sons, Terry Goan and his wife, Hedy, of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., Bill Bailey and his wife, Carol, of Scarborough, Clare Bailey and his wife, Brenda, of Rome, Ga., and Craig Bailey and his wife, Tammy, of Clearwater, Fla; her two stepsons, Bernie Bouchard and David Bouchard, both of Greenville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Kathleen Kingston of New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bing; three sisters; and two brothers.
The family wishes to thank all staff at Clover Manor, the nurses and physicians at CMMC and all staff of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and the Hospice House for their care, support, compassion and comfort care shown to Helen and her family.
