MONMOUTH — Monmouth students, pre-kindergarten through college, including home-schooled, are encouraged to enter an art competition sponsored by Friends Of Cumston Library. A cash prize is offered of $50. Entries are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 8, at Cumston Library. Submission forms are available at the circulation desk and with the art teachers in the Monmouth Schools.
The Art Competition asks for “a reproducible graphic image depicting a part of Cumston Public Library that best represents the library and its ties to the community.” The image(s) chosen may then be used to promote the library on book bags, note cards, posters and the like. The image may be a scene in the library, or tiny part of the library, such as a window or a wall. Art may be in color or black and white, and may be a drawing, a painting, a photograph, scissor-work such as a silhouette or any other creation. Students may enter more than once piece.
The images and prize will be announced and awarded at the May Faire on May 21 at Cumston Hall. For more information, contact the library at 933-4788.
