NORWAY — Norway Library will present “Beyond the Snapshot: Using Photography to Tell a Story,” a talk by Scott Vlaun, on Thursday, March 31, at 6:30 p.m. This talk is part of the library’s “Memoir: Lives & Stories” programming that began in October.

Vlaun will discuss some of the ways photography is used to tell stories, incorporate images in his discussion, and share thoughts and examples about the ways images are used alone or in combination with words to chronicle events and share experience.

Vlaun is a documentary photographer living in Otisfield. He received his BFA in photography from the Portland School of Art and his MFA in photography and art history from the University of New Mexico. His photographs appear in a variety of national publications and books related to food, gardening and sustainability. He was the editor and principle photographer for the Oxford Hills Magazine from 2005-2010.

This program is free and open to the public. For more information, stop by the information desk or call 743-5309, ext. 1. Norway Memorial Library’s website address is www.norway.lib.me.us.
