Joe Mailey: Re-elect Cloutier to House of Representatives
Rep. Kristen Cloutier has continuously proven herself a champion for the average citizens of Lewiston and the entire state of Maine. She would like the opportunity to continue her work. Housing, wages, drug and alcohol abuse, education, health care and many other complicated issues have all been the focus of her hard work and commitment […]
Pam Rousseau: Lake Auburn filtration system would raise Lewiston water bills
Lewiston citizens need a little history about their drinking water. In 1875, the city of Auburn started pumping water out of Lake Auburn for use. In 1880, swimming was prohibited because of bacteria in the water. Around the turn of the century, because of the terrible pollution of the water in the Androscoggin River, Lewiston […]

Nevertheless, I take issue with a couple of her […]
Pinky Amor Mennealy: Support Sheats for state Senate
I am writing in total support of Bettyann Sheats’ campaign for the Maine Senate. Bettyann is a West Point graduate who served our country as a helicopter pilot and most recently served on the board of the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport. She is also an Auburn small business owner. I hope voters join me in supporting […]
Leonard Pitts Jr.: A bad Monday for freedom
This week’s headlines point, in disparate ways, to the same threat. Meaning a corrosion, not simply of the people’s right to know, but of their very ability to know. In that sense, it doesn’t matter whether you and I are in step on which story left us most dyspeptic.
