So, Bates College non-managerial folks are trying to form a union in their workplace. Good for them. Workers from the janitorial staff to the adjunct staff with different backgrounds had decided enough was enough, and were able to find common ground in how they felt about their workplaces within the Bates College campus. Rich Lowry: There never was a Republican death cult
The omicron wave should finally put paid to the perfervid fantasy, a staple of center-left thinking, that the coronavirus is somehow primarily a red state phenomenon, fueled by Republican recklessness and heartlessness.
Rep. Randall Greenwood: COVID is serious; so am I
Sometime in the future, we will know how it developed, what it did, and how it was ultimately defeated. Until then, we should all make the best decisions we can, and try to ensure that societal response to the coronavirus is not worse than the virus itself.
Cal Thomas: Testing, testing
There is a better way to approach this than to make test kits available to everyone, because not everyone needs or wants them. Paul Cain: Kudos to 2 non-political columns
Usually, when I turn to the Maine section of the Sunday edition of the Sun Journal, I prepare myself for an onslaught of political opinions. It was a delight Dec. 19 to read the columns of David Griffiths (“Blues and Blatz beer down south“) and Joaquin Contreras (“Poutine a la Maine may be a mess […]
