LINCOLN PLANTATION – The Bennett-Bean Covered Bridge has been closed to vehicular traffic for many years. It will remain closed to traffic once rehabilitation work is completed in November. A June 14 article in the Oxford Hills edition incorrectly noted it would be open.

CANTON – More than 60 thank-you notes were written by the town clerk after Canton’s efforts to move out of the flood plain. Each homeowner received two Wal-Mart gift certificates from the Canton Flood Victim Fund. Incorrect information was provided to the newspaper in an A1 story Sunday, June 27.

JAY – The Independence Day Parade will be held Saturday, July 3, starting at RaNor Inc., and Jay High School at 5 p.m. July 3. An article on Friday’s B1 of the Franklin edition listed an incorrect date for the event.

A graphic on Thursday’s front page detailing towns’ population gains and losses contained two errors. Poland had 4,876 residents in July 2000. It had 221 more people in July 2003. The information was incorrectly reported by the Sun Journal.
