CANTON – More than 60 thank-you notes were written by the town clerk after Canton’s efforts to move out of the flood plain. Each homeowner received two Wal-Mart gift certificates from the Canton Flood Victim Fund. Incorrect information was provided to the newspaper in an A1 story Sunday, June 27.

JAY – The Independence Day Parade will be held Saturday, July 3, starting at RaNor Inc., and Jay High School at 5 p.m. July 3. An article on Friday’s B1 of the Franklin edition listed an incorrect date for the event.

A graphic on Thursday’s front page detailing towns’ population gains and losses contained two errors. Poland had 4,876 residents in July 2000. It had 221 more people in July 2003. The information was incorrectly reported by the Sun Journal.

LEWISTON/AUBURN – The 8th annual Liberty Festival lineup listed in Thursday’s special pullout section noted the festival was taking place July 3 and 4. Activities will be held only on Sunday, July 4.
