    Gaetan Jordan holds the door open Thursday as Nancy Craig brings boxes of food into the City Mission Warming Center in the basement of Calvary United Methodist Church at Sabattus and Bartlett streets in Lewiston. Craig, the warming center coordinator, and Jordan, an electrician with Integrated Electrical Services, were helping prepare the center to open at 4 p.m. Thursday. It will remain open until 4 p.m. Friday for people needing temporary shelter from the coming snowstorm.

Reed, co-chairman of the warming center, and Gardiner, a volunteer, were helping prepare the shelter to open at 4 p.m. Thursday. It will be open until 4 p.m. Friday for people who need temporary shelter from the forecast snowstorm. An anonymous donor provided the freezers.
