Mountain Valley High School’s Class of 2021 graduates 66 students
The 66 students making up Mountain Valley High School’s graduating class of 2021 received their diplomas Thursday at Hosmer Field. Senior Colby Volkernick praised the class’s resiliency and ability adapt to the quarantines and other changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, saying, “We depended on one another to make it through the odd year that we had.”

$29.94 million RSU 10 budget approved by all seven district towns on Tuesday
By a vote of 469-234, the towns of Rumford, Mexico, Hartford, Buckfield, Roxbury, Hanover and Sumner approved the Regional School Unit 10 $29.94 million spending plan for 2021-22 during referendum voting on Tuesday. The district was also approved to spend funds on a study for a new pre-K through grade 8 elementary school, and adult education and for the Oxford Hills Technical School’s 2021-22 budget.
Peru citizens reject 8 of 40 articles for 2021-22 municipal budget
Peru residents voted down eight of the town municipal budget’s 40 articles on Tuesday’s ballot. This included declining a request of $150,000 for a town-wide revaluation that was scheduled to take place this year.
