Maine athletes win events at New England high school track championship
Maddox Jordan of Noble High wins the boys’ mile, while Teanne Ewings of Greater Houlton Christian Academy wins the girls’ 2-mile.
Class B indoor track and field: Leavitt’s Stephen Pierre and Serae Fish shine at state meet
Fish pulls off surprise of the day, while Pierre wins two titles and nearly a third. Also, four records fall, and the York girls and Greely boys claim team championships.
Class A indoor track and field: Lewiston’s Makenna Drouin wins three state titles
Drouin sets meet record in the 55-meter dash and secures championships in the 55 hurdles and 200 dash. The Lewiston boys finish second. Skowhegan’s Billy Albertson, Marshwood’s Andre Clark and South Portland’s Arnaud Sioho also set records.
Indoor track: Championships are at stake and historic times seem likely
This season, five of Maine’s all-time best indoor track times have been broken. With big crowds and state titles on the line, more marks are likely to fall on Monday.
