Maine Rural Water Association is now handling West Paris Water District’s accounting and customer service functions, as the utility seeks to stabilize its finances by more aggressively collecting customer fees and adjusting its rates for the first time in years.

A second, $20,000 loan from Androscoggin Savings will provide the quickest means for the troubled water utility to reset its accounting practices and move its improvement plans forward.
