Lisbon councilors give final OK to town budget, take heat

The council made steep cuts to the municipal budget to offset increases in the county and school budgets.

Jim Bennett had been the interim town manager before councilors appointed Sarah Bennett as town manager earlier this month.

207 Edibles and Lisbon Cannabis Co. operate out of a building at 5 Canal St.

The project is also behind schedule as school officials await a state permit.

In some cases the fees were more than doubled, though the new rates are similar to what other towns charge, officials said.

Bennett has been with the town for more than 2 years and has enjoyed working for a community with such an active citizenry.

The service offers multiple routes in central and western Maine, as well as Brunswick and Bath.

Elizabeth Deveraux has worked for various auditing firms in the past decade and a half with budgeting and cash reconciliations.

Eligible residents, 65 and older, can get up to $1,000 off their property tax bills.

Faye Brown was a fixture in the Lisbon community for many years and got her hands dirty to bring beauty to the town.
