Frigid temperatures and below-zero windchills froze the state Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Gray, Lewiston got about 3 inches of snow fall throughout the day Wednesday.

York County was hit the hardest Wednesday morning, with 3.3 inches reported in Old Orchard Beach.

Another weather system also could drop several inches of snow Wednesday morning.

As the freeze from Canada lingers for two more days, people are finding ways to stay warm.

Lewiston now has no official warming shelter open during the daytime, but the warming shelter on Lincoln Street is open from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

The water pipe burst Monday morning in front of Montello Elementary School.
