A Cumberland County case manager’s story of rising costs and unexpected expenses at Christmastime is just one of many that have been sent to the charity this season.

Parents who have recently left abusive relationships are seeking help so they can bring much-needed holiday joy to their children.

The Press Herald Toy Fund received applications for nearly 5,000 children this year. Parents began to pick up gifts this week.
