WINDHAM — Two people hurt in a two-vehicle crash Friday night that killed one of the drivers are said to be in “satisfactory” condition.

Police said the crash happened around 5 p.m. in the area of Route 202 and William Knight Road.

According to Windham police, a Dodge Caravan driven by Dennis Brackley, 65, of New Gloucester crossed the centerline and crashed into a Nissan Rogue, driven by Adrian King, 33, of Windham.

Brackley died at the scene and two children in his van, ages 4 and 5, were critically injured, police said. The conditions of the children and their names were not released Saturday night.

A nursing supervisor at Maine Medical Center said Saturday night that King and 27-year-old Samantha-Jo Brink, who had been a passenger in King’s minivan, were in satisfactory condition.

Police had said Brink was in serious condition on Friday night.

The investigation into the crash continues.

Part of Route 202 was closed for three hours as emergency crews investigated the crash site.
