Maine’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Board for this year began with a promise of good things to come. On August 5th and 6th the newly elected state officers met for a summer training session. During these two days, everyone really connected and shared the same dedication that gives reason to believe that this year will be a very successful year. The dates for the upcoming year’s events were set, the goals for the year were agreed upon, and the officers were given their responsibilities as a state board member. The following are dates for some of the upcoming events for this year:

• Fall Leadership Workshop- November 4

• National Leadership Conference in Philadelphia- November 21-23

• State Leadership Conference- March 16, 17, & 18

The officers for this year from area high schools are: Blake Reynolds, president, Bonney Eagle; Cory Shepherd, vice president, Monmouth Academy; Carrie Patch, secretary, Marshwood; Wanda Nutter, treasurer, Nokomis; Stacy Bartos, reporter, Oak Hill; Derek Edmonds, historian, Marshwood and Steve Cooper, parliamentarian, Nokomis.
