“When Our Freedom is Threatened ” is the subject of the 2003 Optimist Essay Contest. The first place winner at the district level will earn a $650 college scholarship. A senior from Lewiston High School earned this scholarship last year. The deadline for this short essay is January 17. This contest is open to high school students under the age of 19.
