Recently, the seventh and eighth graders at Holy Cross Junior High, took part in “Operation Egg Drop”. The experiment involved students dropping an egg out of the Math Lab window. The seventh graders had to make a container with a parachute, while the eighth graders had to make a closes container with a parachute with an egg inside. The experiment was created by our Science teacher, Mrs. McManus, to test our building ability.
Almost all of the seventh graders put their eggs in a closed container and created a parachute and taped it to the container. There were some exceptions, though. Patrick Bryant and I built a case out of straws, a mousepad, clothes hangers and string. Almost everybody’s egg stayed intact. I personally thought that it was a very fun experiment.
