Your Jan. 31 front page article “”Democrats want state to oppose war on Iraq”” shocked and disgusted me!
Democratic lawmakers should be reminded they were sent to Augusta to mind the business of the state of Maine. This type of demagoguery shames Maine in front of the entire nation.
I’ll bet Joelle Fishman, chairman of the National Communist Party’s political action committee highlighted in staff writer Gail Geraghty’s Dec. 22, 2002, article “”Communist leader sees promise in Maine,”” is absolutely delighted by Maine’s Democratic lawmakers’ antics.
Do Mainers want the rest of the country to think of us as the People’s Republic of Maine?
