While reading the letter titled “”Robbed blind,”” I was deeply shocked that a young person could be so callous (March 17).

Does he realize how long seniors have been paying taxes? My husband and I are both over 70 and are still paying taxes!

I think we have done our share and we have not felt the way that letter writer does.

My husband and I lived through the Depression so we know how it is to live when times are tough.

He asked if the young people of Maine matter anymore. I think the poor children of Maine should matter, too. And I know the seniors do!
