I know this display of anger is against our president and not against me. Nevertheless, many of our former best friends and neighbors now symbolically dislike us along with many millions of other people around the world.

Just before the start of the recent New York Islanders/Montreal Canadian professional hockey game, the sellout crowd of 21,273 at Bell Centre was asked to “”show your support and respect for two great nations”” before the singing of the American and Canadian national anthems.

But a significant portion of the crowd booed throughout “”The Star-Spangled Banner””‘ in an apparent display of displeasure with the U.S.-led war against Iraq.

An additional example of this displeasure with our president is that more than 200,000 people turned out for a recent anti-war demonstration in Montreal.

My disclaimer is that I support those who dislike me symbolically. They have every right and reason to.

And now I have every right and reason to dislike my president symbolically, and I do.
