1920 – 2003

Rumford-Richard J. Bolduc, 82, of Maple Street, Rumford, died Saturday afternoon, April 5, at the Rumford Community Hospital surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born in Augusta on Sept. 18, 1920, a son of Phillip and Florida Poulin Bolduc. He was educated in Augusta schools but had been a resident of the Rumford area community since 1939.

He was a Military Veteran having served his country during World War II in the United States Army and achieved the rank of Corporal prior to his honorable discharge.

Following his time in the service, he worked 34 years in the Rumford Mill, first for Oxford Paper Company then for Boise Cascade until his retirement.

On May 29, 1999 he married Ann Delisle Biggar. He was a member of the Elks Club and also the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards.

He is survived by his wife Ann of Rumford; five step-daughters, Judy Coleman of York, Pa., Janet Dwyer and her husband Tom of Bangor, Joan and husband Don of Orlando, Fla., Joyce Tremblay of Lewiston and Jane Barriault and her husband Ron of Windham; 14 grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Evelina Delisle of Rumford; two sisters, Cecile Reed of Augusta and Pearl Wing of Hallowell; and several nieces and nephews.
