RUMFORD – At 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, police were summoned to Swift River Health Care on Franklin Street after a patient reportedly threatened a physician, his family and the clinic.

Police Sgt. Tracey Higley, reading from responding officer Roy Hodsdon’s report, noted that a clinic doctor said “a patient had threatened to harm him and his family and burn down the building because the doctor wouldn’t refill the patient’s morphine prescription.”

Hodsdon located the patient and issued him a criminal threatening warning, Higley added.
