1923 – 2003
LEWISTON – Edmund A. Arsenault, 79, died Tuesday, April 8, at the Central Maine Center. He was a resident of Harlow Hill Road in Mexico.
Born in Rumford, on Nov. 23, 1923, he was the son of Cyrus and Anna (Gallant) Arsenault. He received his education in the Rumford school system. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army as a PFC during World War II from 1943 to 1946.
He worked for Boise Cascade Paper Mill in the Color Plant for over 43 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Robert Shand Post 1641 VFW and was also a communicant of St. Theresa’s Church in Mexico. He was a volunteer at Santa’s Helpers and GRAMPS of Mexico. He was a married in Rumford, on July 6, 1946 to Laura E. Weston who survives of Mexico.
Other survivors include three sons, Joseph and his wife Rose of Portsmouth, NH, John and his wife Sandra of Turner and Cyrus and his wife Nancy of Melville, Mass.; two daughters, Donna Moore of Livermore, and Lorrie Crosby of Litchfield; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Theresa LaPlante and Irene Gautreau; a brother, Raymond Arsenault; and a son-in-law, Dick Moore.
