FARMINGTON – Selectmen approved a nearly $1.1 million sewer budget for 2003. The budget reflects a nearly $9,000 decrease over last year’s spending package.

The $1,092,490 budget includes $10,000 in overlay. The spending plan represents a $10,285 or 5 percent increase in personnel costs, a $20,200 or 10.5 percent decrease in services and a $2,030 or 10.3 percent increase in supplies and a $1,000 or 1.1 percent decrease in land and property.

Increase in personnel is attributed to a 3 percent cost of living adjustment in both wages and salaries.

Also, there was an increase of $277 for retirement due to cost of living adjustment. There was also a $3,574 increase in health insurance due to higher premiums.
