TRENTON, N.J. (AP) – The Trenton Thunder scored in the final three at-bats to rally for a 5-4 win over the Portland Sea Dogs in 10 innings Friday night. Andy Brown’s fielder’s choice RBI was the game-winner.
Trenton (2-0) was down to their final out in the ninth inning when Brian Myrow hit a three-run homer that tied the game at 4.
The Thunder used two singles and an intentional walk in the tenth inning to load the bases against Portland reliever James Johnson.
Portland (0-2) carried a 4-1 lead into the late portions of the game on the starting pitching of Tim Kester. Kester allowed one run and three hits over five innings, but got a no-decision.
Johnson (0-1) allowed three runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief. David Glick (1-0) got the win by getting the final out of the tenth inning.
