1948 – 2003

LIVERMORE FALLS – Richard W. Adams Sr., 54, a resident of Readfield Road, Livermore Falls, passed away unexpectedly at his home Saturday, April 12.

He was born Aug. 25, 1948 in Gardiner, the son of Oscar and Caroline Norris Adams.

He married Marcia True on Oct. 4, 1969 in Pittston.

He worked for Thomason Lumber with his father Oscar Adams Sr., Maine Wide Enterprises, Jewett Builders, Gardiner Shoe and York Town Paper Company. He retired due to ill health. His true love was being a mechanic.

He loved spending time with his 19 grandchildren, sharing stories of when he was younger. His greatest joy was his eight children. There wouldn’t be a day gone by that he didn’t spend some time with them. With his passing he left them all knowing how very much he loved them.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marcia Adams of Livermore Falls; four sons, Richard W. Adams Jr. and his wife Heidi of Livermore Falls, Jonathen Adams and his wife Michelle of Livermore, Matthew Adams Sr. and his wife Amanda of Livermore Falls and Jamie Adams of Livermore Falls; four daughters, Lori Hesseltine and her husband Chris of Milford, Rachel Adams and her fiance Seth Langlin of Livermore Falls, Julie Adams of Livermore Falls, and Renada Hutton and her husband Joseph of Jay; 19 grandchildren; his mother, Caroline Adams of Gardiner; an aunt and second mother, Nora Darling of Gardiner; two brothers, Clifton Adams Sr. and his wife Virginia of Augusta, and Terry Adams Sr. of Augusta; four sisters, Marjorie McArthur and her husband Eugene of Chelsea, Patrica Adams of Augusta, Leona Esherman and her husband Wilbur of Gardiner, and Laura Frost of Randolph; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Oscar Adams Sr.; a brother, Oscar Adams Jr.; a sister, Barbara Jean Adams; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Laura Adams; and maternal grandparents, Clifton Norris and Leona Norris.
