LEWISTON — The April exhibit at St.. Mary’s Visiting Artist Gallery features the most recent work of 27 young artists ranging in age from 6 to 18. Work includes ink drawing, watercolor and prisma color pencils.

The display is of the Lewiston Housing Authority-sponsored Youth Enrichment Program classes for resident children in art, craft and music.

Teacher Sissi Ventrone’s art curriculum includes basic drawing, the concept of perspective, principles of composition and the application of color theory.

Ventrone said she strives to nurture each student’s innate talent and uses an individualized teaching method that can and does express each student’s creative spark as well as encourage pride of accomplishment by setting and achieving their own set of goals.

Exhibiting their work is a vital component of the students’ art education.

The paintings will be available for sale on Tuesday, June 10, at the Lewiston Housing Authority. For more information, call 783-3429.
