the past 25 years.

FARMINGTON – Nancy Morgan of Phillips has been hired as the new executive director of the local United Way.

Morgan has served on the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area board of directors for eight years, including terms as vice president and president.

She recently left her position as human resource director at Forster Inc. after working for the company for 25 years, said Buzz Davis, who has resigned as the United Way’s executive director.

While at Forster, Morgan led many “highly successful” United Way workplace campaigns, year after year, Davis said.

“Nancy is a hardworking, knowledgeable and caring person who is very well-known locally and is committed to our United Way mission: to improve people’s lives by focusing the caring capacity of our communities,” he added.

She will also be starting right off with fund-raising at the annual United Way Classic Golf Tournament to be held June 19 at Sugarloaf Golf Club in Carrabassett Valley, Davis said.

Morgan’s husband, David, works at Farmington Ford in Farmington. The couple lives in Phillips with their child. Morgan was out of state and unavailable for comment Monday.

Morgan will be at the United Way office in Farmington Wednesday for several days of orientation for her new position, Davis said.
