JAY – Selectmen voted Monday to have the boundaries of the transfer station lot in North Jay surveyed. The cost is $3,500.

Kachnovich Land Surveying of Livermore will survey around the roughly 75 acres and set corners and draft a plan.

The town’s property has never been surveyed, Town Manager Ruth Marden said. The survey would have cost $4,200 if the town chose to have the surveyor paint the lines. But selectmen opted to have a town employee paint the lines.

The money will come out of the building and grounds account.

In other business, Sewer Superintendent Mark Holt will check into how much it would cost to extend a sewer line to Knoll Circle to service about 20 houses. The road is off Route 4 near the Jay Plaza.
