1954 – 2003
STRONG – Cheryl M. Hinkley, 48, of Strong, died early Monday morning, April 14, at her home.
She was born Oct. 16, 1954, in Farmington, a daughter of Vernon and Joanne (Wallace) Voter. She attended school in Strong and graduated from Mt. Abram High School June 15, 1973.
On Jan. 30, 1988, she married Nicholas A. “Nick” Hinkley in Strong where they made their home together on the Lambert Hill Road. Mrs. Hinkley did secretarial work throughout the area and also as a sales rep. for Lauri, INC. traveling throughout the country.
She enjoyed crocheting and the out of doors especially flower gardening, camping, and raising German Shepherds. She will be remembered as a loving caretaker of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years; her father, Vernon Voter and his wife Maxine of Strong; her mother, Joanne Huff of Farmington; two sons, Allen Baston and Seth Hinkley of Strong; a daughter, Jaime Ladd and her husband Bruce of New Vineyard; two stepbrothers, Mark and Walter Haines of Phillips; three sisters, Nancy Josselyn of Rangeley, Polly Ross of Farmington, and Betty White and her husband Mike of Salem; two granddaughters, Nichole Decker and Madison Ladd of New Vineyard; three nieces, Tori Nelder and her husband Cameron and their daughter, Victoria of Old Orchard, Ami Huff and her fiance, Scott of Portland, and Trish Young and her husband Brian of Wilton; a nephew, Eric Abbott and his daughter, Logan of Rangeley; several aunts and uncles.
She was predeceased by her stepfather, Richard Huff.
