1931 – 2003

LEWISTON – Betsy A. Wilson, 71, of Stoneham died Tuesday, April 15, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Albany on Oct. 4, 1931, the daughter of Archie and Ethel Gary Cummings. She attended schools in Bethel. She married Leland E. Wilson on Oct. 22, 1949 in Fryeburg. Mr. Wilson passed away on Feb. 26. Her sister, Lillian Sowersby-Machia was living with her and sadly passed away on the same day.

She was employed as a housekeeper for seasonal camps and hotels. She was a loving mother to five children and adored by all that knew her. She enjoyed reading, dancing, playing cards, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Keith and his wife Pauline of Norway, and Kurt and his wife Virginia of Oxford; three daughters, Dawn Wilson and her companion Gerald Higgins of Norway, Bonnie Tielinen and her husband Eric and Vivian Stone and her husband David all of Oxford; nine grandchildren, Melissa, Jacquelyn, Rene, Carrie, Angela, Kimberly, Jillian, Travis and David; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Rowena Dunham of Bryant Pond and Amy Scribner of Oxford; a brother, Roenell Cummings of West Paris.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Darlene; two sisters, Evelyn Baker of Lewiston and Lillian Sowersby-Machia of Stoneham.
