AUGUSTA (AP) – A Readfield man died Saturday after falling more than 60 feet from an Interstate 95 overpass onto a bed of rocks.
Maine State Police said Phillip Hastings, 50, and another man were picking up debris Friday night that had fallen from a pickup truck. When a trooper pulled up, the other man asked him if he had seen Hastings.
After a brief search, they found him below the overpass, moaning on the pile of rocks.
Police said Hastings was flown by helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he died early Saturday.
