AUBURN – Danville Junction Grange 65 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24, for a business session. A game night and refreshments will follow. Members are asked to bring cards or board games. All grange members and guests are welcome.

Rotary speaker

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club’s speaker for Thursday, April 24, will be Lance Crocker, Hospitality Management Program department chairman, at Southern Maine Technical College. He will discuss “Education – the New Way” including a presentation of Internet learning. The club meets at noon every Thursday at the Ramada Inn.

Grange notice

AUBURN – Androscoggin Pomona Grange will observe National Grange Week by attending Danville Union Church on Sunday, April 27. Members should meet at the church at 9 a.m. After church the group will go to Julien’s Restaurant in Gray for lunch. All Grange members are welcome.

Youth track

LEWISTON – Registration is under way for the Lewiston spring track and field program for youngsters in grades K-6.

The events will be long jump, shot put, high jump, sprints, racewalking, hurdles, distance running and relays. Games will be part of the conditioning workouts to make cardiovascular training enjoyable.

The program will run from April 28 to June 9. Practice will be 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. two days a week, with the days to be announced. Cost is $30 for residents, which includes a track shirt, and $50 for nonresidents.

Maryan Wyant, a grade school basketball coach and accomplished high school athlete, will be the program’s director.

Registration, along with information packets, is at the Lewiston Memorial Armory, 65 Central Ave. For more information, people can call the Recreation and Parks Department, 782-5951.

Bridge play

AUBURN – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on April 16 at Clover Manor. Winners were: North/South, first, Bruce Murray and Lucille Theriault; second, Katie Love and Sharon Hinckley; third, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner; East/West, first, Roger Briggs and Claire Lyons; second, Mike and Pat Quinn; third, Gary Thompson and David Wallace.
