LEWISTON — Central Maine Technical College and the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College have updated agreements so students can transfer credits from the technical college to L-A College.

These mean that students who complete an associate degree in one of 12 programs at CMTC can be accepted with advanced standing at L-A College.

The agreements also enable students to choose electives at CMTC that meet USM core curriculum requirements.

“We want to make the transfer process between our institutions as simple and seamless as possible,” said Roger Philippon, L-A College assistant dean.

The two institutions also collaborate in offering a minor in information systems to L-A College students, who can take three of the required courses for the minor, Networks I and II and Introduction to PC Repair, at CMTC.
