LIVERMORE FALLS – Winners of the Livermore Falls Middle School science fair held recently have been announced.

Sixth grade: first, Kendra Lyman, starch levels and ripeness of apples; second, Laura Howell, the blind person walking stick; third, Ross Chicoine, balloon powered airplanes; fourth, Erika Newman, chocolate melting rates; fifth, Karly Wilkins, the best mixture to grow plants.

Seventh grade: first, Matt Cotnoir, non-burning popcorn pot; second, Esther Bizier, science trivia game; third, Katie Richards, long-lasting eye shadow; fourth place, Amanda Colby, sandal bike shoe; fifth, Christina Dufour, plant educational kit.

Eighth grade: first, tie, Rachel Ventrella, comparing different yeasts, and Mark O’Shea, compared different paintballs; second, Caryn Howell, solar powered oven; third, Rebecca LeClerc, comparing flavored gums; fourth, Ricahrd Adams, comparing photo clarity; fifth, Mike Durrell, comparing laundry detergents.
