WETHERSFIELD, Conn. – Germaine (Garneau) Deschenes, 88, of Wethersfield, Conn., died Sunday, April 20.
Born in Augusta, Jan. 8, 1914, the daughter of Jean Baptiste and Lena Mercevier Garneau, she attended local schools.
She moved to Hartford, Conn. in 1950 and worked at G.F. Fox and Co. for 25 years. In 1935 she married Irenee F. Deschenes.
She was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Hartford, Conn. and its Altar Society. She was a member of Southwest, Barry Square and Southend Senior Centers.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Deschenes and his wife, Loretta of Andover and Roger Deschenes and his wife, Ilse of Hartford; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jeannette Rioux of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by her son, Renald Deschenes; and a sister, Simonne Dubreuil.
